Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
Home Catalog ("the App") is operated by Moodzy ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the App. By using Home Catalog, you agree to the practices described below.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information when you use the App:
- Account Information: When you sign in, we collect your email address, display name (if provided), and an authentication provider ID through Firebase Authentication. You sign in with a passwordless email link, Google, or Apple — we never see or store a password.
- Inventory Data: The items you add to your inventory, including titles, descriptions, locations, tags, and any photos you upload.
- Photos: Images you attach to your inventory items are uploaded and stored in Firebase Cloud Storage.
- Subscription Information: If you subscribe to Home Catalog Pro, we receive subscription status and transaction identifiers through RevenueCat. We do not collect or store your payment card details directly.
We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs, we do not use advertising identifiers, and we do not track you across other apps or websites. Our servers keep basic technical logs (such as request times and errors) to operate and secure the service.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Home Catalog service.
- Sync your inventory data across your devices so you can access it anywhere.
- Manage your subscription status and enforce tier limits (free vs. Pro).
- Authenticate your identity and secure your account.
- Diagnose technical issues and improve the App's performance and reliability.
3. Data Storage
Your data is stored across the following infrastructure:
- Firebase Authentication: Your account credentials and authentication tokens are managed by Google's Firebase platform.
- Firebase Cloud Storage: Photos you upload are stored in Firebase Cloud Storage, hosted by Google.
- PostgreSQL Database: Your inventory data (items, locations, tags, and associated metadata) is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Hetzner servers located in Falkenstein, Germany.
We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) between the App and our servers.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate the App:
- Firebase (Google): Authentication and photo storage.
- RevenueCat: Subscription and in-app purchase management.
- Apple App Store: App distribution and payment processing for iOS users.
- Google Play Store: App distribution and payment processing for Android users.
Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account and inventory data for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion of your account, we will delete your personal data, inventory records, and uploaded photos from our systems within 30 days. Some data may persist in encrypted backups for a limited period before being purged.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Delete your account and all associated data yourself in the app under Settings → Delete Account — no need to contact us. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
- Export your inventory data upon request.
We do not sell your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at moodzy.apps@gmail.com.
7. Children's Privacy
Home Catalog is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with their data, please contact us at moodzy.apps@gmail.com.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically to stay informed about how we protect your data. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
